Mira Rosenthal’s Poems on Stage

This coming Friday, Word for Word Performing Arts Company will be staging two poems from The Local World as part of “Stegner Fellows Shorts on Stage” at Stanford University. Word for Word performs short stories and poems in their entirety, preserving the author’s language as a way to honor the literary intent. It should be interesting to see how the poems are transformed in performance. The poems Word for Word selected are “The Border” and “Layover,” which you can hear me read at The Cortland Review. The program also includes Dana Kletter’s short story “Ramona,” Chiyuma Elliott’s Satchel Paige poem cycle, Juliana Xuan Wang’s short story “Days of Being Mild,” and Dana Koster’s poems “Pallbearing” and “Coma Dreams.”
